Neo’s unique sweeping backplate has been optically designed, ensuring that it both frames and reflects the lava and looks good from any angle.

It is easy to assemble the cast metal parts with just two pieces and one screw, Allen key provided.

Neo’s Mathmos branded bottle has a coating of shatterproof glass.

Neo’s base has two fixing points allowing you to affix it to a surface for extra safety.

Unlike other lava lamps, Neo is low voltage, the bottle is attached to the base, the bulb is not accessible, it is very stable and not too hot.

Neo’s safety features gained it a pass for use for children as well as adults.

Lighting designer Jonathan Coles and his team spent two years working with us at Mathmos to make Neo beautiful as well as safe.

The bottle is made in Britain and filled by hand in our factory in Dorset with Mathmos’ unique lava lamp formula.
