The original Astro lava lamp in matt black designed in 1963 by Edward Craven Walker, the inventor of lava lamps and founder of Mathmos. This classic design is made in Britain; the metal is spun by hand, anodised in a matt black finish, then fitted with black feet and a white lead. The bottle is filled with Mathmos’ unique lava lamp formula. Replacement parts are available from Mathmos on an ongoing basis for products bought in the 1960s right through to the present day.
